To assess a jewel, seven factors must be considered by the gemmologist:
Is it genuine?
Its colour
Its clarity
The cutting
The setting
The size
Is it damaged?

However, the author considers the finest gem in the world to be God’s Word, the Holy Scriptures. In a most interesting and authentic way, he applies the above seven factors to the Bible. He suggests that Bible students must apply each of the above factors to the Scriptures if they are to assess correctly the meaning of the passage they are considering.
