Home of thousands of bats, the tunnel has, sadly, collapsed and so Basingstoke is no longer the canal's destination from Guildford. There has been talk over the years that work may be carried out to unblock the fall, however, as time passes this project becomes less feasable. The tunnel used to be 1200 yards long.
