The Masks of Sentinel Background Stuff

The Masks of Sentinel (TMOS) is either a fantasy novel with science fiction undertones, or a science fiction novel with fantasy overtones ~ I'm still trying to make up my mind.

I completed TMOS a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ... though my memory isn't what it used to be. More recently, I've been subjecting TMOS to a major overhaul. I also decided (rashly?) to make it available on the Net, starting with the first three chapters, and adding further chapters on a regular basis. This is my first effort at putting together a site, so please try to be charitable. As for TMOS itself, you can be as critical as you like.

Because TMOS was written years before I'd even heard of the Net, its form is strictly linear. I did toy with the idea of adding hypertext elements, but soon realized that this wouldn't work. TMOS is a colourful (some might say gaudy) adventure, an old-fashioned piece of story-telling ~ nothing more.

In terms of design, also, this site is far from ground-breaking. There are two reasons for this: a concern for bandwidth conservation; a sheer lack of skill, technical and artistic. Some of my graphics are best described as 'electronic collages', being made up of images grabbed from all over, then processed using a paint program. I've tried to select only public domain material - and most of it has been radically altered - but if I've broken any copyrights, please let me know.
