Cruise of 2002

For 2002 we cruised Northern Ireland, Gigha, Islay & Jura. I think we were lucky with the weather as we had three weeks of brilliant sunshine however we also had little wind.
We started off by sailing to Campbletown then on to Glenarm in Northern Ireland.

 Glenarm

 Ballycastle

 Giants Causeway

From Glenarm we caught the tide going north up to Ballycastle. With a strong wind blowing off the land giving us a beam reach most of the way we managed nearly 10 knots over the ground arriving at Ballycastle at 10am.

We spent a few days at Ballycastle. Visiting Bushmills and the Giants Causeway From Northern Ireland we sailed to Gigha, one of our favourite places.

 Doucier moored at Gigha

.From Gigha sailed (actually motored) to Tayvallich harbour almost at the top of Loch Sween

From Tayvallich we visited Islay then on up the Sound of Islay to Loch Tarbert on Jura

After Jura it was time to head for home stopping at Campbeltown for a beautiful sunset and freshly caught local scallops.
