Jebel Ali Sailing Club |
These Web Pages are moving to http://www.stephen.benbow.org.uk/jasc/jasc.htm - please bookmark the new website, as this site is due to close in the near future.
Jebel Ali Sailing Club (JASC) is located in Dubai, UAE. It shares the local harbour (Mina Seyahi) with Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), and has it's own beach.
Dubai is developing rapidly, and JASC has now moved due to building works. It is located on the other side of the marina from where it used to be, and is now affiliated with DIMC. This is a recent development, and more information can be found at the "Mina Seyaha" site.
Racing is held virtually every week throughout the whole year. None of these regattas would be possible without the help of many valued sponsors, such as Cadburys, Halcrow, Rais Al Saadi, and Honda to name but a few. Various boats take part, including Toppers, Lasers, Laser II's, Laser 4000's, Prindles, and Hobies, not to mention a handicapped yacht fleet. Racing is always fast and furious, and very competative.
You can hire out boats for the day to take part in the racing, or just to potter around in. The boats for hire include Optimists, Toppers, Lasers, and Cats, not to mention surfboards. JASC is also an RYA approved training center if you want (or need) lessons.
I do not live in Dubai anymore, and do not have contact details for the club. Please use the "Mina Seyaha" link above to get the most up to date information.
If you are thinking of travelling to Dubai for a sailing or recreational holiday, or indeed anywhere in the World for that special getaway, then don't forget to book your business lounge pass. I've found lounges invaluable all over the world - starting at home at Heathrow, through to Malta, Turkey, Dubai, and the Far East.
