Fiona's first experience of Irish dance was seeing Helen and Vicki Salway dance near Bristol when only four years old. At the age of 8 she was further inspired by Angela Elliot of the Doonan Family Band and began Irish dance lessons. She has since competed in many competitions, including the Great Britain, All Ireland and World Irish Dancing Championships. Fiona has explored many other dance styles through her association with Ryknild Rabble of Lichfield, and has studied A level dance. She is proficient in Appalachian, English Clog and Morris Dancing along with Contemporary Dance, Ballet and Jazz. Many of these influences have been used in the choreography of Sister Act.
Fiona is also a keen singer and musician, she won the Fred Jordan Memorial Young Traditional Singer Competition at Bromyard Folk Festival 2003. Fiona also dances with St Monday Sword Rapper and performs as guest dancer with Celtic band Last Nights Fun. |
