Mo discovered folk music in her early teens, singing in folk clubs around Bristol for many years. She was heavily involved with the Iron Acton Folk Club and the Iron Acton Folk Festival. She was also part of the organisation of Chippenham Folk Festival Committee for many years.

Mo is an established guitarist having been guitarist for the ceilidh band Black Joak in Bristol for 10 years.

Mo was a member of White ladies Morris and a founder member of both Turnberrie Castle and Winterbourn Down Morris teams. After moving to Derby in 1990 Mo joined Ryknild Rabble of Lichfield.

Through Fiona’s involvement in Irish dancing Mo became increasingly interested in Irish music and now regularly plays in both English and Irish Sessions. In addition to the guitar she has taken up Concertina. She currently plays with the Lichfield Ceili Band and is a founder member of the Lichfield branch of Comhaltas ceiltoiri eirreann (Irish Music Society).

Mo is currently studying for a masters degree in Folk lore and cultural tradition at Sheffield University.

Mo is mum to dancers Sara and Fiona, she plays both guitar and concertina for Sister Act
