Nobody I have ever met places a positive value upon abortion; that is to say, nonbody says to a woman "congratulations on being pregnant - now the pleasure of an abortion is open to you". Therefore the label 'pro-abortion' applies fairly to nobody I have ever met or heard of. It is a tendentious label.
It makes sense that a pregnancy that the woman might reasonably wish to terminate should have been avoided and all the means of avoidance should be explained and promoted especially among the young and the vulnerable.
But there must, in the real world, remain instances in which the all-round best course is to procure termination of pregnancy. A law or constitutional provision that precludes this is bound to hurt real people in real situations and discussion should be, solely, upon when and in what circumstances should termination be available to a woman wishing it.
'Hard cases make bad law' often boils down to 'you must suffer for my principles'
