Guide to Baja California

Of the two, we recommend staying in San José. It is much quieter than Cabo San Lucas, and not as over-developed. However, if you prefer to party all night long, Cabo San Lucas is for you. High Season is in the winter so accommodation is more plentiful, and cheaper, in the summer.

On the sea front is Hotel Perla. In low season you may be able to negotiate a discount for several people.

La Paz is an old city, notorious for pirates in the early 18th century. It was also famous for its pearls: John Steinbeck based his novel The Pearl on a story he heard whilst visiting La Paz.
