Book Review: The Dive Sites of Thailand
-
The Dive Sites of Thailand
Paul Lees; New Holland, 176 pages (1999).
An indispensible book to take on your travels to Thailand, covering both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. All dives are given a star rating and are well described. The five star dives are the ones to target; but the book also lets you know which to avoid by including dives with just one or two stars.
Filled with colour pictures, it features sections on sea life, underwater photography and first aid. It is, in fact, a mini guide book; also covering travel, money, when to go and accommodation. Throughout the book boxed asides give diving related snippets - information on, for example, Dugongs and Longtail boats. If you're planning to dive in Thailand you won't regret buying this book.

An excellent, comprehensive guide to reef fishes, which is small and light enough to pack regardless of amount of diving equipment. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to identify the fish they see whilst diving the tropics.
