David was born on June 10th,1966 in Chadderton, near Oldham. He started with Manchester United when he left school but they soon sent him on loan to Crewe where he tranfered to permently a month latter. He then moved to Aston Villa and started his international career. After a impressive World Cup 90 he moved to Bari of Italy for £5.5m. He only stayed a season before moving to Juventus for £6.5m, and then sampdoria for £5.2m. He then arrived at Highbury in the summer of 1995 but his preformances have been limited by injury problems.
