Paul arrived at Arsenal as a striker after playing impressive school boy football in Maidenhead. Since then he has dropped back to a attacking midfield role - a role he played for Burnley on loan at the end of the 1994/95 season. He made his first team debut against Nottingham Forest in December 1995.
