The Guisborough Museum
View of the Museum.

The museum was officially opened in March 1989. It is located in the old stable block at the rear of Sunnyfield house, the premises having been renovated and adapted to use in the winter of 1988/9.

It holds a wealth of old photographs and bygones relating to the town that has long been realised and previously been many temporary exhibitions, especially featuring studies taken by the Guisborough photographer, George Page, taken at the turn of the last century.

When it was decided to set up a permanent exhibition here, financial help was given by the local councils, industry and business as well as many private individuals.

Valuable and interesting exhibits have been loaned or donated to the museum.

In the short time between now and the Millenium, it is hoped that anyone reading this on the 'Net, who onced lived in Guisborough, was born here or just passed through one day, who have some memories, recollections or questions, we would be grateful to hear from you to hopefully expand the town history.
