Berkeley Language Center
An excellent source of reference material, news and information; contains a comprehensive collection of links to language and culture-related sites; many languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Swahili, Yiddish, Latin, etc. are represented. Links to major periodicals and newspapers.
Bucknell language resource site
Dictionaries, thesauri, grammars and more in over 100 languages.
EURODICAUTOM online dictionary
One of the most comprehensive online dictionaries; lots of subjects to choose from and pleasant to use.
International Collegiate of Literary Translators
The Collegiate is planning to make more dictionaries and encyclopaedias available on the web
Language Today
Online magazine for the language industries, covering a wide variety of language-related topics, news, reviews and useful links.
Linguists Online
A database of worldwide translators.
LOGOS online dictionary
Search for a word or a phrase in up to 31 languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Arabic and Hungarian. The dictionary holds currently over 5 million entries and increases by approximately 500 terms a day.
Research-It
A one-stop research site. This contains, among lots of other things, a "universal translator", which will translate a word into your chosen language and show it in use in an excerpt from popular literature
Steve’s Translator’s HUBB
A US-based resource that gives information for translators and offers visitors the opportunity to create, online, their resumé to go on the site.
The Translators Home Companion
Information for professional translators and those seeking translation services, and a focal point for information about resources on the net.

UK job search site
This UK-based site carries job advertisements in a number of different categories ('Media' and 'Other professional' may be useful ones to look in if you are in the publishing and translation trade). They also offer a 'WorkWeb's Jobs by Email' service, where you can register the categories, area and salary you are looking for and they will mail you with any vacancies on their books on an ongoing basis.
The Virtual Tourist
As well as providing all sorts of information about places all over the world, this site's server map allows you to track down people's email addresses.
