The Bedford Waits

A small group of amateur musicians playing shawms, curtals, recorders, crumhorns, gemshorns, viols, rebec, Tudor fiddle and many other instruments to a high standard. Their speciality is in accompanying (and realisation of music for) early dance, but concerts and demonstrations are also undertaken. Availability generally evenings & weekends. Hitchin Symphony Orchestra (formerly Hitchin Concert Orchestra).

A good amateur orchestra, founded in 1929. Always looking for new players, especially brass, percussion and lower strings. 2-3 public concerts per year.

Provides conducted playing sessions for recorder players of "intermediate" standard upwards. New members always welcome.

The Peregrine Recorder Orchestra.

A small recorder orchestra meeting in rural mid-Bedfordshire. Always on the lookout for good, reliable players. Charity concerts regularly undertaken.
