Membership of the Society for the History of Natural History is open to all with an interest in the history of botany, geology and zoology in the broadest sense and who agree to abide by the Rules of the Society. The membership of the Society is international and there are Representatives for a number of countries and areas.

Membership Categories

There are three categories of membership each of which entitles the member to a different level of service.

Individual Membership:

receives all issues of Archives of natural history and the Newsletter together with other relevant papers and is entitled to vote at Annual General Meetings.

Dual Membership:

for two people living at the same address. They receive one copy of each issue of Archives of natural history and the Newsletter together with other relevant papers. Both are entitled to vote at Annual General Meetings.

Associate Membership:

available for individuals under the age of 30. Associate Members will not receive Archives of natural history but will receive the Newsletter and other relevant papers. They are not entitled to vote at Annual General Meetings.

Institutional Subscriptions:

For libraries, museums and other repositories receiving Archives of natural history. Subscribers are not eligible to vote at AGMs and do not receive the Society's Newsletter. Back issues are available.

All members:

qualify for reductions on any special publications that the Society may issue.
