The first dance

Coral Brazil & Tim Mills
1st November 1997

A military wedding - pomp, circumstance and a roaring good time. As one of the guests remarked to Coral after the wedding "we've never been to such a posh do that was such good fun". How true.

Tim said that he'd 'done that' when it came to the uniform bit, so he wore instead a magnificent patterned frock coat. The other guys wore the uniforms, with military carriage, military band in the military chapel and military trumpeters announcing the bride and groom onto the military steps with a military guard of honour.

Feel a bit stupid really, because it was a military month ago now and I can't remember all the different regiments. Sorry Lads! The connection is that Tim makes all the saddles for the Household Cavalry, based at Kensington Barracks.

Well, it was a super time. Service in the Guards Chapel near Buckingham Palace, 200+ guests seated in the Kensington barracks. Bands, trumpets, fiddler playing on the tables. It was all there. Plus a student march that gave the old photographer apoplexy by threatening to inter him in the mother of all traffic jams on the way to the church.

I shall certainly remember this wedding for a very long time. (Apart from the weather.)
